Small in size but grand in reputation, history and authenticity, Middle East Airlines – the national flag carrier of Lebanon- has proven capable of keeping pace with developments in the aviation world, and after joining global “Skyteam” Alliance, MEA could fly to 1000 destinations in the world, and access 500 lounges in international airports.

Middle East Airlines was founded on 31 May 1945 and launched its service from Beirut on 1 January 1946 using 3 aircrafts on flights between Beirut and Nicosia, followed by flights to neighboring cities in Syria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and other destination in the Gulf.  MEA added new European, Middle Eastern and West African destinations after the merger with Air Liban in 1963.

MEA’s fleet consists of Airbus Aircraft types: A330-200, A321-200 and A320-200. The all – new 17 aircraft fleet is one of the most modern fleets in the world with an average age of 4.0 years. All aircraft are equipped with state of the art on-board entertainment technology with Audio and Video on Demand available in all cabin classes.
