With each man putting up 1 Hong Kong dollar to register the airline, American Roy C Farrell and Australian Sydney H de Kantzow founded Cathay Pacific Airways on 24 September, 1946. Initially based in Shanghai, the two men eventually moved to Hong Kong and established the airline. Since then Cathay Pacific has grown rapidly and has accomplished many achievements.

Cathay Pacific is the flag carrier of Honk Kong, with its head office and main hub located at Gong Kong International Airport , from which the airline operates its scheduled passenger and cargo services to 114 destinations in 36 countries worldwide with one of the youngest and most modern fleets in the skies.
