“Like” RAK Airways or “Follow” them!

The rise of the internet age has enabled us to live a life at a faster pace. Because of the freedom the web provides, millions of people can communicate at the same time. Never before in human history has there been a time like this.

Social networking is a recent invention that has the Internet still at the edge of its seat due to its popularity with people. This is mostly because it really is for the people. Bringing every kind of social group together in one place and letting them interact is really a big thing indeed. Social media is not just a platform for easy and simple advanced online marketing, it is also the revolution of our century!

Despite the relatively small number of  “fans” and “followers”, RAK Airways is the first Middle Eastern airline to actively use social media to engage with its passengers, via mediums such as Twitter and Facebook.  Since its relaunch in October 2010, RAK Airways has benefited widely from social media in building passenger numbers, while gradually expanding its destination network to Africa, Middle East and Asia.
RAK Airways is a new, fledgling low cost carrier in the UAE. To date their prices are very reasonable and their destinations are steadily increasing. As far as customer service, RAK Airways deserve a standing ovation for their monitoring of the situation and co-ordination of efforts.

It’s worth saying though, that social media pages, whether on Facebook or Twitter, are not meant to simply inform you of new deals, discounts, offers, online booking, etc. They serve as a portal through which information flows both ways: from them to you and vice versa. As customers it is our responsibility to use social media responsibly. It is your window to communicating with the company directly.
