The awards round off an exciting month for Malaysia Airlines, having joined the elite league of carriers to fly the world’s largest and most eco-efficient airliner, with the launch of the first non-stop A380 service between KL International Airport (KLIA), Malaysia and London Heathrow on Monday 2nd July.
Malaysia Airlines’ on-board dining was also selected as the best in the skies, with the signature Satay, Malaysian grilled chicken and beef skewers in spicy peanut sauce, given the accolade of best signature dish on-board any airline.

The new Entertainment system Malaysian Airlines selected is Thales, a leader in In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) which was pleased to announce that Malaysia Airlines is now flying its first of six A380 aircraft with the Thales In-Flight Entertainment System installed at every seat.
All passengers on will be able to enjoy audio video on-demand entertainment in dual languages (Bahasa Malaysia and English), games, interactive holy Qur’an, e-books and e-shopping.
Other conveniences include noise cancelling audio for high fidelity sound, USB ports for personal device connection and in-seat power for laptops, tablets and more.
The seat configuration is of 494 in total and is subdivided in 8 First class, 66 Business class and 420 Economy class seats. Guests in each cabin will enjoy the widescreen display screens that range from 23” in First class, 17” in Business class, and 10.6” in Economy class.

Malaysia Airlines is now the government -owned national flag carrier of Malaysia. From its home base, Kuala Lumpur International Airport and with a secondary hub at Kuching , Malaysia Airlines operates its flights to 60 destinations in Southeat Asia, East Asia, South Asia, Middle East, Europe and Australia. The company had its headquarters Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport and moved it – reportedly – to KLIA early this year. Malaysia Airlines fleet consists of 112 aircrafts, mainly Boeing 737-400s , Boening 737-800, and Boeing 777- 200ER .
Business Class features reclining seats and footrests. Movies, news and documentaries are available through the Portable Media Player (PMP) for flights of 3 hours and over. Economy class is available on all of Malaysia Airlines’ fleet with personal TV located behind each seat, and a footrest located below the seat in front.
